I have been coming to this little cafe/restaurant for 15 years! (The first time I was 14 years old.) It hasn't changed much in all that time and that is what I love about this place. It doesn't need to.
The menu is simple and has everything you would want to eat from a quick lunch to lovely specials you can enjoy in the evening.
I have eaten in a LOT of different restaurants all over the world. I have eaten fine dining which is nice for a treat, but I always keep coming back here because the food is heavenly. HUGE portions are served for a very reasonable price. The food is real rustic, tasty home cooking and you can never go wrong. Even a bowl of soup is served in a big pot with big hunks of fresh bread.
You will find me here most weekends enjoying a big veggie breakfast (served till 4pm) with a pot of tea with the Sunday papers.
THIS IS MY FAVOURITE PLACE TO EAT EVER!
The decor is charming and quaint and a pleasure to eat in. True, the owner is a man of few words and can look a little miserable at times, but I think thats just his personality! Also there is an (oldish) man who is a long time worker there whos personality is eccentric to say the least and some people could take him the wrong way! However, this doesn't distract from the amazing huge portions of tasty rustic food served and the very reasonable prices.
I will be coming here for many years to come!

I would like to comment on the food but can't as we never got to taste it. We sat at our table for twenty minutes and not even a drink was offered to us let alone our order taken. To add insult to injury, as we decided to leave, the waitress thanked us as we walked out!!!! No, thank you, we won't be coming back or recommending the place.
over priced, not enough staff.
