The food is very good,almost authentic but the service is really bad.They bring your food on time and it's always good ( in my experience) but the waiters are brusque and not at all eager to please.And if you pay by card, their card machine has that horrible way of asking whether you would like to leave a tip. I have no problem with leaving a cash tip and always do, but I find adding that request on the card machine very crude .

Tai Pan is the best restaurant in manchester everyone's so friendly. Tommy is really nice and always lets us in first. The food is DELICIOUS that is the worst review ever!

I had a very poor experience at the Tai Pan. I've been several times, have enjoyed the food and the service has been fine. However, last evening, a Monday night i and a companion had to wait some time for our dim sum starters, then had to wait for ages for our mains to come. I aksed several times if we could have our main course and was either brushed off. Eventually a hot plate (cold) was brought to the table, then some rice, then some (cold) roast char shu. Asking for the rrest of our mains, we then received our noodles, but the main course to accompany them never materialised. We decided to leave and was told by the maitre d' that the reason there was a delay was because 'there are lots of Chinese in..." I'm not sure what to make of that and I didn't wait to enquire. Needless to say, I won't be going there again.

I always use the Taipan as it's simply a cut above most Chinese restaurants in Manchester ............ the food and service are excellent ......... it maybe slightly pricier than the rest , but it's well worth it.
