I had a very poor experience at the Tai Pan. I've been several times, have enjoyed the food and the service has been fine. However, last evening, a Monday night i and a companion had to wait some time for our dim sum starters, then had to wait for ages for our mains to come. I aksed several times if we could have our main course and was either brushed off. Eventually a hot plate (cold) was brought to the table, then some rice, then some (cold) roast char shu. Asking for the rrest of our mains, we then received our noodles, but the main course to accompany them never materialised. We decided to leave and was told by the maitre d' that the reason there was a delay was because 'there are lots of Chinese in..." I'm not sure what to make of that and I didn't wait to enquire. Needless to say, I won't be going there again.

I always use the Taipan as it's simply a cut above most Chinese restaurants in Manchester ............ the food and service are excellent ......... it maybe slightly pricier than the rest , but it's well worth it.

Simply the best there is around, I have eaten all over Hong Kong and the Tai Pan in Manchester is up there at the top.

Tommy always makes you feel so welcome, as do his staff who are friendly and efficient. Dim Sum Lunch are excelent value for money and a good chance to experience Cantonese style food without the flight time to Hong Kong. A place I always take my friends.

I think the Tai Pan is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Manchester. You have to go the Dim Sum is to die for

Tai Pan is my favourite Chinese cuisine around the City, always great food, friendly service and good value. Excellent parking facilities! makes for a great start/end to my night in the City.

All i have to say is that i've been going for the past 8 years. Does that not speak for its self. Foods Great, if we feel like a change we just ask Tommy and he tells us what we can have.

Service With a smile
