We visited the Gurkha Grill for my Wife`s birthday treat, and it didn`t disappoint ! Great service , and the food is brilliant, very good service, and very attentive, you can`t go wrong at the Gurkha Grill !! I found the taste a subtle mix of chinese and indian cuisine, but with a wide variety to tickle your taste buds!!

The Gurkha Grill was absolutely outstanding last night (Wed 14th Sept). We had booked at the last minute as we were picking up my wife's daughter for a quick tea on her way home from work. We didn't have much time - and we didn't want to just eat; we wanted to eat well - and I had heard some great things about this restaurant.

We arrived just after 1830hrs - during the 25% off period - and were immediately greeted and seated in a lovely, clean (and virtually empty) restaurant that got busier and busier. We chose three different starters, including the newly added Momo, which we duly shared. All three of us found all three of them to be absolutely delicious ! Rich in flavour, spicy but not too hot.

For mains, we had a Sagar Matha Piro Piro - which delivered on its' promise to be very hot - and two Lawsoon dishes - one chicken (Kakhura) and one Lamb (Khasi). They were as delicious as they were spicy ! They were beautiful to eat - and then warmed you through from within - without any burning of the mouth ! We all tried all three dishes again - and all of us loved all of them ! I had 2x teas, 1x beer and the ladies shared a bottle of wine - and the whole thing cost us just over £20 a head. Good service, great food - and fantastic company - all at a great price ! We will definately be back for more !! Thanks !

Visited this place after having been disappointed with two other resturants in the area, the Moon and the punjab. A massive step up in food quality.

The Gurkha Grill staff were attentive, which I like as whowants to go and look for the waiter when a glass is empty. Service is therefore very good in my opinion.

They have a 25% discount for those eating between 17:00 and 19:00 during the week, you would have to check, this was applied to the bill by them automatically, no quibbles there either.

Food presentation was excellent and the taste/flavours were there.

Onion bahjees arre golf ball size, I expect them to be twice that size myself but they were light and fluffy in the middle, so cooked to perfection.

The mixed biryani which was acombination of chicken, lamb and praqwns was also very tasty.

I have been going to the Gurkha Grill for the last 10 years, even since moving to the Peak District. The food is wonderful and the chef will always make dishes to suit your taste. I am really surprised by the comments of is site as the waiters have always been polite and plesant. I love this place!
