Went for my birthday with my girlfriend and friends who came down from London. Have always enjoyed turkish cuisine especially after my holiday to Alanya. Very disappointing meal. Staff took a long time to sort a table out. The waitress ignored us for 20 minutes even though several tables were empty.

Food was below average. Plates and cutlery were dirty and my friend had to ask for his cutlery to be replaced. Wont be going back.

I must strongly disagree that Cafe Istambul“s waitresses posses agresive attitudes towards cjefs or Turks. Not at all. I am Turkish myself and i love spending quite evenings with my boyfriend or with my pals at this outstanding place. Any meal I have ever chosen here had tasted the way my mum or grandma would prepared for me back home.

As Cafe istambul s very popular among celebs including Swen Erikson who is regular guest there as well as his teamplayers, I would recommed it to anyone not only Turks, who want have wonderfull evening.

My husband and I went to have a nice meal.I am Turkish and I am homesick. So it was a good choice we made I thought. But after we sat on our table, the waiteress`s agressive attitude put me down.I only asked for Turkish wines in Turkish and she must have a problem with Turks so she started to give also dirty looks.I waited to ask info about Meze platter but none of the waitresses were interested in our table so I went and asked to chefs as it is open kitchen but the same waitress went mad.She did not say anything to me but the attitude against the chefts was ridiculous. So it was terrible experience. We waited too long also to order and get our food.

ample seating if you arrive early (before 8 pm). For later times, call and make reservations and then hope for the best. Parking is free, but spots come at a premium, specially at the later hours. They now have tables availabe for those who can't sit on pillows/floor, but you must call in advance and arrive early. The hokah is the best by far in Altanta area, but don't be surprised if the tobacco is a different flavor than the one you ordered. Service is fast and courtious. Beer and wine prices are reasonable. Atmosphere is friendly and fun. Music is at times loud, and the food is not that great. But the belly dancer makes up for the other short comings.

This restaurant is very disappointing. My husband had lamb which had no flavour at all. I had the sea bass which was overcooked and tasted burnt. My son had a chargrilled mixed platter which he said he could have got in a donor kebab outfit for half the price. Sauces appear to be out of a jar. Would never go back.

I can't recall ever sending a dish back, but I had to do it at Cafe Istanbul. Like others say, the ingredients are of low quality and appear processed. You get mayo on your salad, the lamb seems re-hashed and the whole experience is distinctly fast-food. Steer clear and try the likes of Kebabish instead if you're hankering for tasty grilled lamb.

We've been before & really liked it so this review should be seen in that context. Plus, my partner really liked her swordfish so the points given are an average of hers & mine. I ordered the Iskender, described as a mixed grill with tomato & yoghurt. What I got was a doner kebab with sauce & one miserable slice of chicken & an even more miserable slice of lamb. Definitely not worth the price. No problems with the service though.
