I can not recommend this place highly enough. Absolutely fantastic flavours. Certainly the best far Eastern restaurant in Manchester, with the possible exception being Chaopraya.

As the earlier review said, the service is a bit "quirky", but it's a minor issue when compared to the stunningly-good food. If you haven't been before, you are in for a treat. Trust me on that one!

I work on Deansgate and i've only just discovered this place. They do a fantastic 'lunch box' for either £3.50 or £4.00 depending on whether you want noodles or rice and they are both really tastey. It doesn't feel greasey or particularly bad for you like most types of takeaway food, and the prices are really competitive in relation to other places on Deansgate.

Today will be the third day on the bounce that i've eaten from there!

This is truly a great restaurant. The service can be a bit quirky...in fact the whole place seems a little eccentric.....there is a Korean tv show on a never-ending loop playing over and over and over again on the television (yes, they play a tv during your dinner). Every single time I've been to this place the same show has been on.......what do they think they are accomplishing with this bit of atmospheric genius I can't even BEGIN to imagine.

But when you get past these minor amusements, the food is absolutely sensational....and I am a tough one to please, believe me.

As someone else mentioned...."spicy" doesn't really mean SPICY as you might expect in a curry house. But nevermind that....the flavours are off-the-chart good. Trust me.

'Highly recommended.

I used to live in Korea, and really miss the food there. Luckily I have some Korean friends in Manchester so occasionally I can persuade them to make some 된장찌게(doenjang-jjigae) or stuff like that.

So, of course I was really looking forward to going to Koreana. However, I must say I was disappointed.. the food just isn't much like the real thing. The Galbi-jjim tasted nothing like how it should, and for the price, I can't really forgive them that. I know it must be hard to get the right ingredients, but still..

Also I was a little annoyed that Korean students get a special discount, and other students don't. That part is only written in Korean, so most English people won't realise it. I am a poor student too, and I really love Korean food and culture, so I felt a little bitter at being asked to pay more money than other people for the same product.

I loved it!

I agree that where it says spicy it wasn't actually that spicy.

But I still really enjoyed it. The staff were nice and the food was lovely :)

A group of 12 of us ate here on 26th Jan 2008 and we were all very disappointed.

The staff were friendly enough but it took an hour and a half just to get our starters. Drinks took approx 30 mins to arrive. There was much confusion over the orders and some people ended up having dishes they hadn't ordered. There was a wait of about an hour between courses with no apology or explanation. It took three and a half hours without puddings or coffee.

The food, with a couple of exceptions, was extremely bland. I was expecting (perhaps incorrectly) spicy food, full of flavour but everything seemed to have the same sauce on it which didn't taste of much. Beef soup looked like dishwater, tempura veg was stodgy and doughy. To be fair, a couple of people enjoyed their meals but, in general, it was a disaster.

A group at another table had the banquet and I think they fared much better. Even so, I won't be going back and I certainly wouldn't recommend it.

What can I say! The food are SUPERB, especially the Beef Bulgogi. From that, I fall in love with Korean Food. We ordered the Dweji Galbi (Pork Spare Rib), it suprised me, how delidious it is. And the Haemool Jungol (Seafood Soup), well-delicious.

I keep telling me boyfriend how can I live wihtout its food.

Hmmm, so let me get this right. you have to be a korean waiter in a korean restaurant, or its not a korean restaurant. thats a really stupid thing to say. The chef is Korean, The owners are Korean, but if youve got a chinese waitress, it magically changes to a chinese restaurant? I mean how many korean people do you know. Or more specifically how many Korean waiters.waitress do you know. The guy doesnt even consider that there arent that many korean waiters to hire in manchester.

Im from Korea, Ive eaten at the koreana, I know for a fact there are both Korean and Chinese waiting staff there. So the things written by that last guy are really incorrect. He didnt even write anything about whether the food or service was good or bad. What kind of a review is that.

Well for the record, I thought the food taste and quality was above average for a Korean restaurant in UK, The prices were average for the UK, and the korean and chinese staff were all helpful and attentive when serving.
