The Northern Quarter Restaurant And Bar

I took my partner here for her 21st due to the great reviews and it exceeded all expectations. The price is average but the quality and taste is fantastic. The atmosphere was great. The service was similarly impeccable, they've got it down to a T; both members of staff were friendly and helpful to every need. The best thing about this restaurant however is the food!!! Will definitely come back and would recommend to anybody for any occasion. Brilliant

Noticed that a quite a few people are talking about this place at the moment so thought I'd give it a try with a few friends. Went down last night and was very impressed. I can see why it is a talked about place. Me and my three friends all had dishes from the specials board and the thoughts of us all were what a great place with great food, great staff and buzzing atmosphere. Woth a visit I'd say.

Heard a new chef was in TNQ so as I'm already a regular I thought I'd treat my lady. What an amazing evening. It was Wednesday and although not packed it was pretty full so the atmosphere was buzzing. The food was even better then before which was already excellent. The presentation was better and the flavours were amazing! I couldn'r recommend this place more!!

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. i had been struggling to find a nice restaurant. I was extremely pleased by TNQ! The staff were very friendly and down to earth. The food was delicious and very well presented and the atmosphere was great esp as it was a thurs night!I would say this is one of the best restaurants in manchester. The northen quarter is definitely an up and coming area and I give it the thumbs up!

Food was superb, and excellent value for money: A leaning towards the quality as opposed to quantity, which suits me down to the ground (if lardies want to eat a ton of spuds and veg, let 'em order them and pay for them seperately; I don't see why I should always feel forced into digestive implosion, by virtue of portion-moaners). Atmosphere rocks at the weekend. Pancetta potato cake and lamb shank come highly recommended.

Absolutely fantastic. Had the lamb shank followed by a superb cheese plate. All this washed down with a lovely rioja reserva. The atmoshere was great and the staff were on the ball. Looking forward to my next return.

Terrible - one of the worst meals I have had in a long time. I was feeling very hungry so I ordered the steak and chips. The best description I can give is the sole of Dr Martin's Boot with 5, maybe 6 chips and 3 lettuce leaves at the side. No sauce, dry, tastless peice of rubber - mmmmm, all for just 13 quid?! Maybe the other items off the menu are nice, I don't know, but personally, I won't be eating there again.

Given the excellent reviews, and my love of the Northern Quarter, I went yesterday afternoon. Despite the board outside advertising its 12-7 p.m. menue it was closed! Staff in the kitchen, but no diners - and no explanation.
