Velvet

I visited Velvet on Saturday evening 31/10/2009 and sadly left disappointed.

| enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant however the service and food were of poor standard.

I had to ask three times for a jug of water, I was given the wrong starter and when my aubergine tartlet did arrive it was very much lacking in aubergine.

Our plates were left on the table for about 20 minutes after we finished each course and we weren't offered dessert.

Had been looking forward to visiting the restaurant after reading various reviews. Left there with a real feeling of disappointment.

The small, tapas style dishes were poorly executed (we tried 6 in total), lacking any real depth of flavour, merely supported by the unattentive floor staff.

The small dishes were followed by a pizza main. accompanied with a variety of side dishes. Once again, left sadly wanting.....

Anybody seeking quality food, backed up with efficient, educated staff would be well advised to sadly give Velvet a wide berth.
