Dukes 92

I have eaten in Dukes a couple of times recently - the Sunday carvery is excellent and certainly one of the best in Manchester. Its lovely and relaxed - Sunday papers, coffee, you get the picture. I've also been with friends and sampled their pizzas - also excellent in terms of quality and value for money.

i have eaten at dukes numererous times and the standard is getting worse... there sunday carvery is served cold and the meat is dry. there regular menu is an abissmal array of those dishes served in a corner cafe. i would not eat at dukes again after being a customer for some time, the standard is lacking. and as for the bbq, why spend £3.50 on a burger that is tastless, layed on dry, stale bread and served with burnt onions and no acompniments... when you can go inside and order a burger and chips from the specials menu cooked by a qualified chef with side salad and chunky chips for £5.95.
dukes staff are a team of poorley trained bar staff and waitresses they have no knowledge of the products on offer, prices, times of food service and managment contacts. The manager is a poor customer communicator and lacks the customer care needed by someone of her role.
the only assets that dukes have, is a small selection of there bar team that are happy to help and assist and they are led by assistant manager Lisa Kettle.
