Barburrito
your comments review this restaurant
I love all the 'Yanks' on here telling the Brits what they should and should not enjoy to eat. Barburrito is offering something different to the British market and doing a great job of it.
I have spent a lot of time in the states and Barburrito is easily better than the muck taco bell offers and would be better compared to Chipotle Mexican grill but having said that would be a significant improvement.
I would say the food is overall very good, if not traditional mexican food and would hope that Barburrito would ignore the 'Yanks' comments on here until they plan to take the business to the states, at which point they should reduce the quality of the fresh ingredients in line with their expectations.

I love this place! At last we get good Mex food in Manchester. I lived in California for 2 years and Barburrito is as good as the best burrito bars over there. Check it out.

Great idea but not done very well unfortunately. The veggie tacos were good but the meat tacos were totally overpowered by the massive amount of onions the meat is cooked in and tasted of nothing but onions. None of the subtle Mexican flavours came through.
Worst of all, they refused me a glass of tap water, even though I purchased 2 meals and 2 drinks. They said 'we don't serve tap water'. Even if the food was great I wouldn't return to a place with this attitude.

I am another "Yank" living in the UK. I just don't think they quite understand what Mexican food is all about here. My wife and I have eaten in Mexican restaurants from Cyprus to Tijuana, Mexico and we love Mexican food. A traditional and typical Mexican restaurant in the U.S., owned and operated by Mexican families, gives you a huge bowl of freshly cooked and still warm tortilla chips and a huge bowl of fresh salsa to go with it. This is to start your meal. This is usually free and as much as you want throughout your meal. Try getting this at any Mexican restaurant in the UK.
Also, try finding a Mexican restaurant that has tacos!! Chiquitos does not. Barburrito is ok. But as my fellow "Yank" said, still not as good as a Taco Bell. Another thing they just do not seem to understand here is that not all Mexican food is hot and spicy.
