Pacific Chinese & Thai Restaurant

Terrible lunchtime experience. Staff not interested. Food stale and not replenished as it ran out. All in all a disappointing experience for what was a very good Thai restaurant. Wont be visiting this place again.

Overpriced, over rated, poor service and all in all a bad do. Go to the Little Yang Sing which is streets ahead.
The first thing we saw as we climbed the stairs was a rodent trap, the soft drinks are made from a concentrated syrup and were flat. It certainly didn't taste like coca cola.
We ordered soup, three bowls arrived and the fourth arrived as the others were finishing. The Won Ton soup had a hair in it but this was discovered after most of the soup ha been consumed.
The main courses were reasonable, so they should be at £8.50 each and then £2.20 per head for egg fried rice. The chicken kung po was sent back as it was laced with dried chillies rather than fresh chillies and was impossibly hot.
We were not charged for the won ton soup and I refused to pay the 10% service charge, the manager also took the drinks off the bill, 1 G&T & three cokes. Hardly a magnanimous gesture.

Went to the Thai section of pacific for a special occasion. The restaurant was very busy, but we'd pre booked. We all gave our orders but 1 hour later all the starters hadn't arrived. I spoke to the manager and he apologised. Then we spent another hour waiting for our main courses. We ended up leaving 2 and a half hours after arriving. without eating. Really disappointing.

Pacific's Sunday buffet is nice. The food is of reasonable quality and hence a reasonable price. But I wouldnt stretch myself too much further than that. I would certainly return, as its a good quality buffet, but I would say there are better Chinese 'restaurants' to go to on other days of the week.
Good, but not great.

Kate's review seems a bit too much like an 'in-house review'.
I had an enjoyable, but not exceptional meal at ******* last saturday.
Whilst the decor of the restaurant is clean and modern - everything felt a little rushed and not very relaxing.
The menu was impressive but confusing. Why do all oriental menus have 400 dishes on them !!!
The food was nice. Fresh without that horrible synthetic taste often associtaed with chinese/thai food.
However whilst the service was friendly, it was also very very slow.

This is one of the best Chinese / Thai restaurants I have been to in Manchester. There is a Chinese floor and a Thai floor. Both are great, with a friendly welcome and plenty of good service. The Chinese food is exquisite (I would recommend the stuffed scallops) and perfect for a romantic evening for two or a celebration party.
The Thai lunch buffet is also excellent. Set on the top floor of the restaurant, it is the best ‘all you can eat’ buffet I have ever been to. The food is of a very high quality, not at all greasy (as I have found with other buffets), with a good choice and lots of lovely fresh fruit to finish with. There are set buffet sittings that each last for about an hour and a half, and it is always best to book one ahead because it gets rather busy. If an hour and a half sounds a bit short, I would advise you not to worry… no-one ever seems to eat for longer than fifty minutes. A top-notch Chinese / Thai restaurant.
