Nice to have Indian food in a buffet style restaurant. Food very nice, but not massive choice. I am vegetarian, and there is only one curry to try. However, for the price, great value.

Very bad organisation and service!

We came into the restaurant at 3.50pm. No one who was working in the restaurant was seen, no waiter, no one, food was seen on the buffet and a few guests. After 5 min came one guy from the kitchen. He said that they were just about to change all the dishes, and after a couple of mintues they would put out new warm food. And we were asked to wait.

They went out and in from the kitchen and filled on the food, and splashed on the wall behing the buffet table without wiping it off. After 30 minutes later (4.30pm) he said that now we can start to take food, only few dishes and rice were missing.

All people ran up, and then there were no naan bread. So you could eat chicken, lamb, and veggie dishes but no rice or naan bread.

What kind of service is this??? Make the customers wait so lon, then not have rice or naan and think that the customers will be happy???

one of our favourites, reasonable food and a discount for students. when the curry my gf wanted was missing, they offered to make it specially, and it was great.

Especially recommend the starters, so much choice i usually have 2 or 3 servings.

We went to Grand Buffet on a Saturday night after a show at the Palace Theatre. To our dissapointment the food was at a low standard compared to other Indian buffets we have been to. Their wasnt a lot on offer as in the range of currys. Lamb dishes were appalling as were all bone and no meat. The only desent dishes were the starters. When I go for a curry the most important thing to me is the Bread. This was not available and I had to ask for some Naan bread, when this arrived the waiter brought it over to the table but was only allowed a tiny piece (not impressed). The meal cost £8.50 + a soft drink £1.50 refillable.

I was dianosed coeliac about 4 months ago, for those ignorant to this condition, it means if I eat anything containing Gluten, Rye Barley or oats I become very poorly.

My colleague booked a table at the Grand Buffet for our Christmas party. Prior to the evening, Idecided to call them to check they were able to catering for dietary needs. I felt very frustrasted as the two different people I spoke to didn't even know what coeliac meant. I feel it is a sad state of affairs when there is so little awareness around and due to their ignorance of my condition i was unable to join my colleagues.

Had a superb buffet lunch in November 2007. All the dishes were top quality, and real value for £5.50 (a few bob dearer evenings and weekend) There's no alcohol, but unlimited refills of soft drinks were very welcome!

This seems to be the only Indian buffet in the city centre - highly recommended!

This restaurant was fantastic when it first opened but sadly has declined since then. The food was tasteless and only lukewarm. The popadoms were soft, the chutneys thin and runny and the dahl was like soup. There was a choice of only four curries and all of them had far more sauce than meat. The Bombay potatoes were made with tinned potatoes and the chips were frozen and only half cooked. We didn’t see any samosas at all whilst we were there, despite a sign for them.

Very very disappointing, especially after such a good start
