This place is a real find.
Yes it is in a casino but I find that to be an advantage because children aren't allowed, it is open far later that any other restaurant of this standard (til 1am) and the food appears to be subsidised in the hope that customers will lose their money on the Roulette.
The restaurant is situated at the back of the casino but it is designed well enough for you not to notice the gaming floor. I had a started of parma ham, roasted tomatoes and mozzerella, a simple dish that is often done badly, but this was beautiful with the tomatoes warmed through without becomming dry. My main course of fillet mignon served with truffle mash was again perfectly cooked and reasonably priced. I opted for a desert as the menu was different to the typical Manchester fare. The tartlet of chocolate, raspberry and chilli was a delight with the dark, rich chocolate being ofset with a warm chilli aftertaste.
The meal was finished with complementary coffee, a nice touch.
Overall I cannot praise this restaurant highly enough. On top of the imaginitive menu and well executed food the staff are attentive and polite, the best in Manchester.
