I recently went to the Gaucho Grill and was extremely disappointed. Whilst the drinks and the service were excellent (our waitress in particular was outstanding) the food was a massive let down. For starters we had seafood which was good but horrendously overpriced - £16 for a seafood cocktail of about three mouthfuls. The steaks were good but were served on cold plates (an absolute no no) and the side dishes were bland and uninspiring. By the time I had got half way through my steak it was cold. I had so been looking forward to going here and felt so let down by the food that I skipped desert and headed home £190 poorer, feeling very ripped off!

Went here in July, overpriced, run of the mill steaks, I've had better from my local farm shop.

The hyperbole afforded to this restaurant is somewhat confusing to me. Granted the setting is marvellous but the steaks are hardly out of this world. They are not cooked in the authentic Argentinian fashion, Gaucho are afterall owned by a Dutch company, as they are in a number of native-owned establishments in London. They don't even offer authentic chimmichurri having given way to dreadful bernaise and peppercorn sauces. I think that the over the top comments given reflect the dearth of satisfactory steak restaurants in Manchester rather than the overall quality of Gaucho Grill's product.

This is by far the best restaurant I have ever eaten in in Manchester. Would definitely recommend that you have steak rather than anything else on the menu, it is what this place is all about and melts in your mouth!

I've been a few times and have always had an efficient friendly service, definite value for money the steaks are class!

HEre's a tip, don't go to a knocking shop to get your shoes repaired. If you go to the Gaucho Grill have steak, it is the most fantastic Argentine beef imaginable. Fantastically cooked on an open flame. Forget fish, forget vegetables forget sales. Good red wine and lots of steak.

A fantastic night out.

Went for a meal here last night and after reading the last 4 reviews we were a little bit apprehensive. However we shouldn't have been as the food was fantastic and our waiter while not in your face all the time was always on hand when another bottle of wine was needed. Overall a great setting, excellent food and good service.

I have been the the gaucho grill many times in the past and absolutely loved it. Best restaurnt in town - or so I thought. On my last visit not only was the service from the waiters and the management appalling, but the food was distinctly average and certainly did not warrant their price. I used to always recommend the gaucho grill to my friends however not i always strongly recommend against it. if you must try it for yourself though, i urge you to avoid the seabass which was served to us raw - twice. with the explanation that 'this is how we serve our fish'. pathetic and embarrassing. I will never visit this chain again.

I had lunch at the Gaucho Grill at the weekend. I agree with one of the comments written here, the service is appalling! I found the staff rude and not very welcoming. May I suggest there is a bevarages menu - the only drinks menu I was given was a wine list. I asked for a specific soft drink - 'we don't do that' was the only response I received. The bread rolls were a nice introduction to our meal - a side plate with accompanying knife would have been helpful - the crumbs were all over the table. Overall, the food was nice, but too overpriced for what it was, only worth a visit if you like steak!

I would never waste my money in this resteraunt again the service is appalling and if your party is more than 10 you are given a very small set menu to choose from which is set at £55 per person (this is much more expensive than buying the same things from the standard menu). We were seated at the back of the resteraunt and had to walk to the front everytime we wanted a drink as no one was available to take our drinks order, to add to this there was only one person working on the bar and took his time in serving when he was not disappearing up-stairs for what ever reason.
