Chaophraya Thai Restaurant and Bar

I hate to agree with everyone, lol, but this really IS a great restaurant. I LOVE Thai food, and have been to Thailand several times. The food at Chaophraya is every bit as good as the best Thai food that I had in Thailand. Absolutely highest marks. I tried Ko Samui, thinking it might be similar. The prices were similar, if not HIGHER, but the food wasn't a patch (though the service was great). There is only one Thai restaurant in Manchester, as far as I'm concerned. Well done, gentlemen. You have a wonderful restaurant!

Fantastic Food, Fantastic Servie, Fantastic Prices - Beautifully decorated. I cannot rave about this restaurant more. Went with my partner who hadn't tried Thai before. Now we struggle to find another Thai restaurant that measures up to Chaophraya.

Had the BEST Birthday meal EVER!!! We had 2 different set menus at £25/£30 a head...and OMG you get loads of dishes to try!!! cue doggie bags!! The starters were amazing and the fisherman's soup was a big hit!the Weeping Tiger dish was gorgeous, not at all stingy with the portions. I just loved loved the jasmine rice in wrapped in a banana leaf! The Service was lovely, the staff were really friendly and helped us with our debate over the desserts. I fully recommend the green pancakes for puds, not that I really had room but it would have been rude not to try it! Dont let the green colour put you off, cant actually describe the taste, but it went really well with the ice cream which was lovely, and I know my ice creams - having spent 6 months in Italy!
Then the hightlight of the evening was hearing some gongs banging away, next thing I knew, ALL the staff were playing and singing Happy Birthday to ME... and I got a gorgeous slice of Birthday Chocolate Cake!! It was Fab.. I loved the Chaophraya Experience.... So going to vote for them at the Manchester Food and Drink Festival... We cant wait to go back... and would have brought We Love Chaophraya t-shirts if they had them!

Upon entering the restaurant we were extremely impressed with the decor, layout and impressive surroundings. We were given a very warm welcome and seated at our reserved table upstairs with ease. We loved the fact that you didnt feel as though you were sat on other peoples laps, as is so often the case in many restaurants with overcrowding. The food was delivered with great speed and was truly delicious! The chicken was so tender it melted in your mouth. The portions were large for the price, and we didnt expect to get so full so quickly! The drinks were also very reasonably priced, with a very nice glass of Shiraz at only £2.90! We have eaten at many Thai restaurants and this is certainly hard to beat. Overall a very pleasant and pleasurable experience, we will be returning soon!

Chaophraya provides the ultimate fine dining experience for any occasion. I had the perfect romantic date in a relaxed atmosphere. After the date I pre booked my next two lunch meetings. I am sure my clients will be as impressed as I was. Without a doubt Chaophraya is the Best Thai Restaurant in Manchester.
