I love this place. Old fashioned....Old World.....just a delight. The food varies a bit, often great, often just good. But the staff are wonderful...the room is an absolute stunner, and the evening spent there is a delight. For a special occasion I can't think of a better place in Manchester.

I really like this place. It's definitely the last of it's kind....the Grand Hotel French restaurant. it's like stepping back in time....a lot like the Ritz restaurant in London. The food can be a LITTLE spotty...mostly very good, but not normally stunning.

But the overall experience is so great that you end up overjoyed with food that may not be flawless (but still very good). We go there regularly and will continue to do so.

Service always superb. Fab breads always offered. Decor traditional old French and not for all. Food always good, but! can be over salty and if you have ordered fine wine (which they have) the salt can kill it stone dead as well as having you up

half the night drinking water. So always remember to ask for no extra salt and so

avoid the soups as they have already been oversalted and you can't take it back out! And just in case the chef from the French is reading this and thinks I must be a tasteless philastine, we are major foodies and have eaten at london, new york and Paris's Finest, we really DO know what we are talking about.
