Ning is outstanding. One of the best restaurants in Manchester I have ever been.

I have been to the one in London, very pricey but the food is not as good as Ning. Also not many restaurants having the owner comes to your table asking how is the food etc. You feel so welcome here. Very calm and relax. The staff were ever so friendly and polite.

The decor is fantastic. Everything blends in so well. Not too much heavy decor like some other restaurants. Ning will always be my favourite.

Not really very good, in all honesty. I am amazed at some of the review I see below. I've eaten in many Thai places, and a few Malay restaurants and I can only describe Ning as being just about adequate.

We started with a "Thai" Tom Ka Gai soup. In name only, my friends. It tasted for all the world like a tinned Cream of Chicken soup, into which someone had dumped a bit of coconut milk. This despite it being a prawn soup. You would expect a seafood base in a soup featuring prawns, but i could have lived with the chicken soup....had it been good......but mediocre would be a bit too kind.

The other starter was a small salad with "satay" sauce. Again....very little substance. A few sprouts with some so-so peanut sauce. You could do it as well at home.

Chaopraya is 5x better, and even the Ko Samui, which is a major step down from Chaopraya, in my opinion, is at least twice as good.

Mains were a bit better, but STILL no better than average.

Considering the fuss made on this website about Ning, I was astounded at the ordinary (being a bit kind) food here. There are MANY better places in Manchester to get Southeast Asian cuisine....and you don't have to go into a dodgy neighborhood to get to them. Sorry, a big thumbs down on this one.

took my husband out on a surprise dinner about a week ago.. the service was really good, everyone was very friendly, the ambience there was romantic enough for me... food was quite good, a bit less spicy for my taste but then again i like my food H-O-T and the proportions were good too... all in all, we both enjoyed it and probably go there again soon...

Great atmosphere, the service comes with a lovely smile. The food took my breath away, and took me to the far east and back!!
