I have eaten at Ning a few times because I absolutly love the food, and their deal menu is fantastic value the service is also great there is one problem that puts a dampner on every visit, that is they NEVER bring you any change if you pay your bill, Last visit our bill only came to £31 I gave £40 and never got any change back after waiting 15 minutes and feeling too cheeky to ask we left after paying a rather generous 25% tip! Now i would have assumed maybe they forgot but this is not the first time is has happened last year had a similar problem last few times and so have a few of my friends. Don't get me wrong I would always tip 10% especially if the food is good like it always is at Ning, I just think the waitresses and waiters shouldn't be so cheeky as to expect such a large tip. The answer is simple stop being so presumptious and maybe people wont leave feeling so annoyed as I have Iike the food but feel resentful to return now! Top tip pay by card!!!!

Food here is not nice and not authentic to the slightest. Agree with others on the fact that it's got a good value for money and since they serve mostly Thai food rather than Malay there are much better Thai restaurants in town.

Our first dining experience at Ning will be our last. Having seen Ning rated as three and a half stars we had high expectations when we went to Ning to celebrate my wife's birthday.

The food lacked authenticity and the service was nothing more than mediocre.

Our overall experience was that Ning was a terrible disappointment - the starters were the only thing that lived up to our expectations and everything was downhill from there.

Don't be deceived by the website which boasts authentic, home-cooked cuisine - you're just setting yourself up for disappointment.

I almost never even made it to Ning after a bad experience with a member of staff over the phone!

I called on a Tuesday night and asked if I could book a table for Saturday... this was greeted with a heavy sigh, whereupon I was told they were very busy and could I phone back?

I did so 20 minutes later, to be greeted by the same bad-mannered staff member, who after sighing and fussing for a minute or so passed me over to someone more competent and friendly to take my booking.

On arrival, the staff were lovely, as was the decor etc. and the food was very nice indeed. It's just a shame that most of this review is not going to be about the food, because other problems overshadowed the tastiness of the meal.

Upon finishing our meal (a v. reasonable 12.95 for 2 courses offer) we were asked on 3 different occassions if we wanted to see the desert menu, each time we did not.

We ordered a coffee for 2, and were charged for 2, but the pot that arrived barely filled 1 cup.

Whilst we finished our wine we were then told (politely) that we needed to pay+go as our table was needed, which was v. odd given that the restaurant was half full and there were several other tables of the same size nearby!

Overall - I enjoyed the food, but I'm not sure if I would be bothered to go back to be honest, there are other places just as tasty but with less hassle.
