Took my family tonight (4/10/08) to this restaurant. Alsolutely superb. Would recommend to anyone. The service, food, atmosphere everything wasexceptional. The popodoms and no less than 7 dips were delicious to start. My main course was punjabi lamd chops. Awesome. Me, my wife and two kids all felt the same. Excellent experience.

I had heard good things about the food here and decided to book for my birthday, we were a party of ten. Most of us are members of the Hi-Life diners club and when we mentioned this at the time of booking we were told that we could use all 4 of our cards for the discount - 2 for 1 on up to 3 courses if you are not familiar with Hi-Life. The food was certainly better than your average Indian and we all enjoyed our food. It wasn't until the bill that our experience turned sour. When the bill came, they didn't deduct our discount as expected. After complaining, they deducted 1 meal, after complaining again they deducted a second, but they would not give us the full discount for 4 cards that was confirmed at the time of booking!!! The food was still good value and the staff had been extremely friendly, it was just a shame that the manager would not honour the discount agreed at the time of booking.

Oh my god. ame here after being recommended by friends of owner in Nottingham. The was awful, Bland, lacked taste and basically had better from local super market. Service was not great either. 3 of our party ended up having cold dishes as we had sent back twice as not what we order. The head waiter was rude, very arrogant as he had been on TV..so had his friends in Nottingham but they are lovely and food blows this East Z East rubbish out of the water.

Would not return or recommend. Only up side was we got our car parked but then had to wait 20 minutes to get it back to go home.

I found this to be a bit better than average curry house fare. Nothing really new, the same old "almost all the dishes taste the same and come in a brownish gravy" that you find at almost all of the UK Indians. But if you want the same old, average UK version of Indian, this one is a bit better than most, but not really great by any means.

Do these place even KNOW that we can tell that they use the same base for almost all their dishes and that the dishes all taste pretty much alike, despite widely differing menu descriptions?

Decided to go to the new branch in Blackfirars Street after reading rave reviews, could'nt be further from the truth. Very unorganised at reception. Turned up at 7.15 for the riverside table i had booked, the man left us waiting whilst he attended to another couple who's booking he could;nt find. we eventually was shown to our table against a wall near the (cold)cloakroom and had to move our table back a little. The service was very rushed we had poppadoms, starters, main course and two bottles of wine within an hour. I had ordered a cake which never came, not overly impressed with the food either, so, needless to say, will not be going back.

I dined or did not get the chance to dine after two hours waiting for our table! The new restaurant off deansgate looks nice with a big bar but they need it as they over book. A table of 30 booked at 9pm were not sat down at 11:30 so our table for 9:30 had no chance. I have never encounted such bad customer service, as by 11:30 we were told it would be another 25 minutes. Probably the worst restaurant I have ever visited!

four of us ate here for a birthday treat and a treat it was. The food and service was first class and we all agreed it was the best indian food we had tasted, probably! Cant wait to go again.
