Rhubarb

I totally disagree with the previous bad review of Rhubarb..I also went there for my Birthday meal and had a wonderful time. The staff were friendly and patient as I always take absolutely ages to decide what to have...they talked me through the menu..the food was delicious and an interesting mix of fish, meat, veggie...my fish dish was perfectly cooked, but I could have eaten anything on the menu it all looked good. For pud we had a chocolate pudding with an amaretto sauce and ice cream absolutely to die for!!! I am definitely going back as for me it lived up to it's good reputation.

Recently my husband and I went to Rhubarb. I had booked this three weeks previously as it was my birthday and so made sure we'd get in. They had no record of this, but said we'll juggle around.

After ordering we waited for nearly an hour, then when we eventually got our meals, my fish was underdone and cold. After I complained the waitress took it away. The manageress turned up with the same plate and said there was nothing wrong with the meal. She was very agressive to me and said I'd better pick something else. There was nothing else I wanted, so I got the same which really wasn't much better.

I never saw the manageress again all evening. However, the waitress was friendly. I had felt that in a restaurant of this calibre you should be treated with respect. This was the first and last time we go there.

Having had a very positive experience on our last visit, this time we were on the whole satisfied with the food, it was up to expectations, although limited choice for the 1 vegetarian member of our party.

Our disappointment however was in the service - both the waitress serving us and the waiter who dealt with the bill seemed to be wishing they were elsewhere and were certainly not concerned with us at all - a contrast with last time and very poor customer service. Shame :(
