Marmalade Bistro

I have been to Marmalade several times and for the majority of my visits, I've loved it. I think the atmosphere is just right - nice and relaxed without being too noisy.
I have always really enjoyed the food I've had here, literally everytime I have been the food has been delicious. However the menu can feel limited - I love the veggie pie but I don't want it in the middle of August, but I keep going back so I obviously don't mind that much.
I think Marmalade is great value - the early evening offers are very good and it seems to be consistently cheaper than other restaurants I go to.
Service is my main gripe with this restaurant. On some occasions it's very good but more often than it not it is far too slow. The staff are always very pleasant when they finally get round to your table - on my last visist I asked to see the dessert menu and the waiter completely forgot to bring it. He then forgot to bring us the bill. This was after waiting around five minutes to be seated (we just sat ourselves down in the end) and a further ten minutes for our drinks order to be taken. The restaurant was around half full and I didn't feel this was acceptable. However, on another occasion the restuarant was full and the staff advised us to go and have a drink elsewhere and they would call us when a table became available, which they did. We then got seated quickly -great service. It seemingly depends when you go.
