The Lass O' Gowrie
your comments review this restaurant
One of Manchester's oldest pubs, the food at the Lass is good solid old fashioned fayre, sensibly priced and good value for money. It also doesn't forget it's a pub not a restaurant, serving ale and honest food in a quirky, unpretentious boozer setting packed with nooks, crannies, great decor and old arcade games.
However, it's homemade pies are the real reason to move heaven and earth to get here. Utterly packed with meat and flavour, these artisan delights are like art itself. Buttery shortcrust pastry envelopes tender beef slow braised in ale, juices and gravy. The mash is proper and tasty and chips homemade. The veg is fresh and the gravy tasty. And all for £7.50.
Fan-bloody-tastic.
