La Tasca - Deansgate

went to la tasca with a group on a saturday night. i have never had such a horrible dining experience in my entire life. the wait staff was rude and unhelpful. the food came out way to quickly to have been made to order, and the taste of ALL of the dishes confirmed this. the food had definitely been prepared in batches, and kept warm under heat lamps buffet style.

the chicken and garlic looked promising but was so salty no one was able to finish it. the "omelette" was bland, and the texture was appalling. the potatoes were tasteless as well, and completely dry. the fried calamari had no flavor, and was soggy. the only thing that was slightly edible were the chicken wings....which isn't exactly what we were looking for when we headed out for a night of tapas.

Went to La Tasca on Deansgate for the first time with a group of eight. First impressions were mixed, two bouncers on the door and lots of smokers crowded around the entrance, toilets were grim. Didn’t have to wait long for our table. The quality of the food was mixed, one or two of the tapas were fine, the Albondigas and the Chorizo, the ones you can’t go wrong with and the rest was either ok or poor. Service was fairly abysmal, very rushed, no specific person for our table, just whoever happened to be passing… we set the tables ourselves after the plates and cutlery were plonked on the table by a passing waiter.. plates were cold. The main course arrived only a few minutes after the starters so we were very rushed… one dish was stone cold. Only sign of any attentiveness from the staff was when we declined to pay the ‘service charge. In terms of the food and the service it’s probably the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. I’ve eaten at La Tasca in Didsbury several times without complaint… found it great there in terms of atmosphere, food and service.

We went to La Tasca fairly early on a Sunday evening with friends and we found the atmosphere great. I had never had Tapas before and was a little apprehensive, but I needn't have been as the food was excellent. I can recommend the Tapas for a Tenner offer which allows you to eat as much as you like for £10 and try everything. Can recommend - Great fun.

I went to La Tasca for the first time this weekend, as part of a group of 20. We went with our GCSE Spanish class as an opportunity to use the language in real situations - not your 'textbook' Spanish. It proved to be very successful - the opportunity to order food in Spanish, and the tapas itself. Our waitress was patient and understanding as we ordered our tapas, and she was well organised throughout our visit. I was very impressed with the buzzing atmosphere in the restaurant - very warm and cosy. We ordered from the Menu Rapido (3 tapas from a set menu for 4.95). The food went down well too - I had Patatas Bravas (lovely potatoes in a sauce - definitely my favourite); Albondigas a la Jardinera (meatballs in a sauce); and Croquetas de Pollo (chicken with a creamy sauce in breadcrumbs served with a garlic dip). All in all, we had a great time in La Tasca, and I will be returning again - thats for sure! I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Very nice atmosphere. You are given plenty of time to review the menu, didnt feel rushed. I am sure they could accomodate you if you were in a hurry or wanted to take your time.

La Tasca- always consistently good- Deansgate branch no exception. The key feature here is the bustling atmosphere and the friendliness of staff. The food is always excellent and the nature of this cuisine makes it great for sharing as a group. Don't be put off if you have never been before- the staff always ask if it is your first time! A couple of notes of warning. Don't arrive on a Fri/Sat night and not expect to have a wait- this is a very busy restaurant. Also, the restaurant is very 'cosy' in style- perhaps not suited so much to quiet conversation as it is to something more akin to shouting to your friends across the table! That on board, the tapas offers top value for money and brings a touch of genuine spainish flair to deansgate.

I have a serious allergy to gluten which can be a problem for many restaurants. However, La Tasca have their menu's marked with 'GF' (Gluten free) and their waiting staff are so helpful. The food is delicious and I would definitely recommend it to all (and especially those with allergies).

I have been going to La Tasca for nearly 4 years, and love it my boyfriend gets sick of going i have to drag him every time we go to Manchester, or the Trafford centre both are brilliant. good atmosphere food fab especially the chorizo paella, with a nice glass of red siglo rioja.

10 out of 10. HAve been eating there for nearly three years now. I have to have my arm twisted to go anywhere else when we eat out. the staff are lovely.

Only negative; always check the bill, I have had several mistakes in mine in their favour.
