Est Est Est (Trafford Centre)

The restaurant looked promising and was busy but the food was poor for the price. We were seated on the edge of the ‘outside’ seating near the toilets of the Orient section which made us feel a little uncomfortable but as is the nature of eating at the Trafford centre we put up with it. I ordered the bruschetta which was the first disappointment. The tomatoes, skinned and seeded, were virtually flavourless as was the dressing. My partner had the mozzarella sticks and mushroom starter, the breaded mushrooms were ok but the mozzarella sticks were lacking in mozzarella and taste.
For the main course I opted for the linguine Gamberi. If you want to pay nearly £12 for SIX tiny little prawns and a picante dressing which was again lacking flavour then here is your place but I prefer value for money which this certainly wasn’t. Having said that my partners Arrabiata style penne and pepperoni wasn’t too bad in flavour and had plenty of meat.
Drinks wise I opted for the homemade Sicilian lemonade which was ok but not worth the £2+ paid. My partners Elderflower ‘presse’ was from a bottle so was as to be expected but overpriced. Finally to top it all, when we asked for the bill we were given it and then left there waiting forever. We were expecting them to come back for our payment but in the end had to seek out a waitress.
Overall the meal was very disappointing and in my opinion way overpriced for the quality. Service was ok until it came to paying. There are definitely better restaurants in the Trafford centre and probably a better Italian so I will not be returning to ‘est est est’ again.

My two friends and I had lunch here on the 27th May. We ordered garlic bread for a starter, which arrived at the same time as the main course. The garlic bread was tasteless. My main course pasta dish was very small. It was just warm - as though it had been plated up for 15 mins before being served.
We then ordered desserts and coffee. The coffee came a good 20 mins before the desserts. I complained to the staff, but was told they had been waiting for the kitchen staff to prepare them, because they were so busy. How long does it take to cut a slice of cheese cake??? All the desserts were just awful and bland. We told the staff, who didn't care!!
Food - poor. Service - poor!!
It cost £38 for the three of us, which is great if the food is good. This wasn't unfortunately!

i always enjoy my food and service, i think customers are very picky, and can always remark on the bad points but never on the good points, if a place is so perfect you would be too bored, keep up the good work, and most of the staff are very friendly, and polite, and work hard, catering is a hard game now, and waiters are treated like slaves, employees, have enough work to do, as labour seems to always be tight, customers service equals, time enegry and positivity, xxx
est is always busy, and will stay like that

ten of us booked for a birthday meal - when we arrived we waited ten minutes at the front and about three people acknowledged us but didn't seem to know who we were - I had the rosemary foccacia with smoked salmon and cream cheese with skins on fries. Expected special/chunky/wedge type fries especially for nearly £3 but was just normal chips in a bowl nothing special. Then the foccacia was pretty tasteless and I could only manage eating it because I asked for mayo - wasn't succulent or special quite dry and boring. Struggled to get it down! For nearly £8 I expect my sandwich to be really sumptuous and with loads of taste and plenty filling - it wasn't. To be honest everyone else in the party enjoyed their meals I think I was the only one who was not impressed with my dish. The plain, garlic and tomato garlic bread they brought out at first was boring and tasteless also - won't be going back personally. Not really much atmosphere quite bright and not intimate and toilets were like in an aeroplane.
