Went for the first time today at lunchtime & had the buffet.
Wow!.......Unlike other Chinese buffets I've had everything was fresh, hot & delicious....the secret being that the food doesn't sit around for ages but is replenished very regularly.
The Hot & Sour soup was the best I've ever had (pity it's only in a vegetarian version but still the best ever). The dim sum were all good as were the main courses.
The staff were all friendly, polite and very quick in bringing beers, bill etc. A DEFINITE WINNER ~ I'll certainly be back ~ probably this week.

we dined at pan asia recently, the restaurant was clean and welcoming, the staff were very good not bothering you every couple of minutes to see "is everthing alright with your meal"
the food was served hot and was very good ,the drinks were expensive £3.10 for a bottle of tiger lager.
However what spoilt the meal was the10% service charge added to the final bill,if the service is good i leave a tip but this leaves no option if it isn't

First visit after post-Christmas shopping trip.
Overall we were pretty impressed with everything, food was excellent compared to other buffets (it wipes the floor with the Number 1 buffet). Right in the heart of Chinatown, staff were welcoming.
Layout is laid back, selection of food is good but not overwhelming. Just enough to keep you going back. There were two rices available (one a non-meat fried rice), a small selection of sushi. There was not much choice for veggies, but don't let that put you off. Two soups available - I tried the veggie hot and sour which was 10/10. What we noticed was the high quality of food which was all hot, unlike at other buffets where the food is invariably lukewarm - a major bone of contention at these kind of places.
The spring rolls were more than acceptable, larger than those at Number 1 and much more satisfying! There was a tiny amount of dips available, which I suppose the staff would have rectified on request.
As a fish-eating half-veggie I had the King Prawn curry and was very happy with it, prawns were very 'clean' unlike some at other Chinese places (where this attention to detail with prawns can be a massive stomach-churner).
Our great evening was spoilt by the petty attitude of staff, who reported our 2 year old (who had not eaten any food at all) for having 3 spoonfuls of his mother's ice-cream. Our party was approcahed by the manager who said she would have to make a charge. We pointed out that our toddler had not touched any chinese food (his prefered diet being fish fingers and pizza) and that we would be happy to pay a charge for the ice-cream. When the bill arrived we were disgusted by the attempt to charge the child's buffet price of 4.75 for the 3 spoonfuls of ice-cream. When we protested this was reduced to 3.50. This is a pettty and shabby way to treat customers. Staff should exercise some discretion as far as toddlers/young children are concerned.
A potentially faultless visit to Pan Asia was spoiled by this incident. I would give them 9/10 for the food, 7/10 service, 10/10 for value for money. But the staff need to extend a warmer welcome to customers if they want them to return. For the sake of 3.50, they have upset at least 3 potentially loyal future guests. Has Pan Asia thought about providing for young kids, who may not all eat sushi or other oriental foods? A 3.50 charge for a tiny bit of ice-cream on a teaspoon is outrageous and has put me off Pan Asia big time.

We were recommended by friends to visit Pan Asia for the buffet lunch! We were totally "gob smacked" on the variety and value for money the restuarant offered. We are now going to visit again for the 3rd time, after leaving it a while from the second visit as we didn't want to tempt fate as you do in thinking it will not be as good the next time you go! But we were wrong, it is still 10/10 and now our friends are coming too! All we can say is go for it Pan Asia keep us coming back for more....
