I love Croma, as a fellow pub Manager I so agree with the no reservation policy, ok parties over about 8 can book but it is obvious why. This Restaurant seats over 200, taking bookings slow down the service in a restaurant like this. Stick to what your doing, people will always complain about something. If they knew the industry they would understand instead of bad mouthing businesses.

Went here for a first date, so noticing the restraunt might be a little odd, however we were left to talk and get to know each other. When we were ready to order, it wasn't to long before some one was there to take our order.
Saturday nights they don't take reservations, but there's a nice bar for to wait before you are taken to be seated. The pizza was nice, some odd selections, the breakfast pizza is one for those who have very strange tastes, but the Americano was delicious. Well worth going to, not too pricey either.

We had the same problem, with being told rudely that we could not book. Shame to spoil such a lovely place with such good food

My wife and I really like Croma, we have been there on about a dozen occasions over the last few years and enjoyed everyone of them. The Pizzas are both varied and tasty, the decor is cool but not soul-less and the service is always good.
However we were very dissapointed recently to be quite abruptly and rudely told by a pretentious sounding woman that we could not book for a Saturday night. It was my wifes 30th birthday and we have freinds coming from all over the UK, not being able to book (and being told so in such a way) meant we couldnt consider it, even though it was our first choice, and as such I dont think we will be going back again.
Some restuarants and bars in Manchester do have this 'uber too cool' attitude problem. Thats a shame.

Thursday night and it's packed, a good sign, promptly greeted and informed of a 20 minute wait we take a seat by the busy bar, sip our Nastro's and scan the menu. Contempory with curious paintings on the walls, Croma evokes visions of an innovative Pizza Express with an alluring less-corporate feel, very inviting!
The place is huge with seating on three levels, couples lovingly pepper the masses, there's lots of commotion, there's lots of motion, there are smiles and there are laughs reverberating around the room, the perfect place for our post-business exam meal, just me and my pal. Contempory but with no loss character usually associated with somewhere like Pizza Express, the lighting is hushed and comfortable, it feels snug and somewhat reassuring, we are seated and the starters are swiftly brought over. Mine, huge field mushrooms, garlic and Worchester sauce strewn with peppery rocket was pleasant, my friends garlic king prawns were meaty, succulent and surprisingly perfectly cooked, a change from the usual rubber prawn offerings typical of a place like this.
Under the influence of a moderately priced Chianti I couldn’t help but grab the waitress and demand if she knew how good my pizza was. I exaggerate not, it was one of the nicest pizza's I've had outside Italy, the topping? Well, the usual floury, quite thick tomato covered base and wait... here it comes... beautifully plump flakes of undyed smoked haddock, baby leeks, and a perfectly cooked, runny egg embedded into the centre topped with emental cheese which had bubbled to form a gorgeously nutty crust- perfect for dipping into the garlic butter left over from my friends garlic prawns... Of course all topped off with Parmigiano reggiano and black pepper all efficiently delivered by the attentive waitress. My friends take on the classic ‘crispy Peking duck’ pizza: duck with a plum sauce base, topped with spring onion and cucumber also tasted great, incomparable to mine though! And the prices? Fantastic, it cost £43 for both of us: two courses, a bottle of red and a double espresso, you can't complain. Brilliant value for money.

I go to Croma, Manchester all the time. The venue is lovely and contemporary and gives an expensive feel however, it is not expensive at all. The staff have always been welcoming and they are very efficient. I have never had a bad meal. It costs around £4.00 for a starter and £7.00 for a pizza/pasta. This is excellent value. I have introduced friends to the experience and they are
regulars too. I am having my 40th there is January. It suits all ages and you can dress up or dress down. Kids are made to feel very welcome.

After a pleasant experience in the city-centre site, we tried the Chorlton one. Food was good as usual However the meal was completely ruined by a waitress who told off our 4 year olds for being too noisy (they were not). The kids cried, and then the manageress defended her 'mate' - her words - by saying that she was just concerned about the kids being hurt by food. Family restaurant of the year - not!!

This was our first visit to Croma, Manchester City Centre. We were politely welcomed and taken to our table. The waitress was a delight, we have three teenage boy's who like variety, the menu was funky and we liked that. We chose various starters to share, very tasty. For main course we polished off pizza and the deserts were delicious. The atmosphere was buzzing as expected for a Saturday evening. The bill was reasonable and we had all enjoyed the Croma experience and will return again possibly with friends.
