We were recommended this restaurant by someone we trust and generally found the food to be ok (we had the set banquet for three for about £75). The dim sum was good but the main courses were pretty average. What was a real let down was the service which was bordering on rude. When it came to paying the bill the "waitress" was very keen to point out that the bill did not include a service charge and that we should pay extra. In an attempt to leave without encuring her wrath I placed about £2.50 on the tray and we fled! From reading other reviews, the chinese restaurants of Manchester would appear to be a very hit and miss affair. I recommend a visit to my home city of Lancaster to the Fortune Star on Dalton Square. Great food, lovely service, good value and never a disappointment.
Worth the trip!
