This place LOOKS like it would offer a cheap meal. In reality, the bill will be just as much as at a REAL thai restaurant....and in the REAL Thai restaurant you'd be likely to get MUCH better food. Simply not a very good place, which is a shame because it really looks like a place you'd like.

But if you can't put out the food, nothing else matters. They don't.

This is quite a good place....light years above a typical curry house. The starters are the real stars. WELL above average. Some of the mains are pretty much the same old tired war horses you've had a million times in a million different curry houses....but none are worse than average, and some are quite good.

Overall, I'd say the place is very much worth your custom.

There IS one thing they do here which REALLY annoys me. When you enter they ALWAYS ask you to wait at the bar. Then, after you buy the inevitable drink, they show you into..........an empty restaurant. This is at 5pm, when nobody is yet there. The place does fill up, but this "Let's get the mugs to buy an extra drink" trick is almost enough to put me going to what is otherwise a very nice place.

San Carlo

Overall very good, despite having virtually the worst pizza. Considering how great most of the other food is at San Carlo, I was astounded at the soggy, insipid excuse for a pizza.

But there is a solution....skip the pizza and feast on the other goodies, which are almost all fantastic!
